Founded in 1884, this historic rural village was named after its founder Leonard Rowland who donated the original property which would later become Leonard. While Leonard may be small in size, this active community is dedicated to preserving the local history and providing an inviting atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
As a rural community, the Leonard area is surrounded with popular and beautiful natural areas including an organic lavender farm, an Ecological Awareness Center, farms, hiking trails, riding stables and parks. A popular destination for groups looking to get outdoors is the Upland Hills Farm. Run by the Webster Family since 1960, the farm is located in Oxford and is open to the public seasonally. Perfect for virtually any group looking to learn more about animals and farming, they also host an annual Fall Harvest Festival and hayrides during certain times of the year as well. Just one of many unique and enjoyable attractions found in the area, the Leonard area is the perfect place to enjoy a day out with your friends or family.
